Friends for Youth had the privilege of partnering with local investment firm Franklin Templeton Investments on an activity for our waiting youth.
Youth waiting to be matched with a mentor can wait any where from 6 months to 2 years to be matched with the right mentor. This is the result of greater number of youth in need than number of adults volunteering, unfortunately. Friends for Youth is dedicated to serving youth not only matched with a mentor, but we also provide opportunities to youth waiting to be matched to get to know their community and have some fun.
Franklin Templeton generously sponsored, partnered and supplied a serious pumpkin carving session for a lucky group of our waiting youth on October 21st. Franklin Templeton volunteers got their hands dirty with us, scooping pumpkin guts and carving their way to a merry Halloween season.
